All information located at this site is considered public information. Please be advised that to protect the integrity of this information, access can only be obtained thru Department of the Receiver of Taxes via the official Town of Kent website.

This site reports only taxes received during the authorized tax collection period. Information regarding payments made after the Receiver of Taxes authorized tax collection period, should be obtained from the Putnam County Commissioner of Finance, 40 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY 10512 at 845-808-1080.

To make a payment to the Town of Kent for taxes due in an open collection cycle, you may pay in person, pay by mail or in the near future you can visit our online payment website. The authorized tax collection period for the Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Kent is the following:

Town and County Taxes

Total Taxes Paid in One Payment

  • On or before the last day in January, no interest
  • On or before the last day in February, 1% interest
  • On or before the last day in March, 2% interest plus a $2.00 tax reminder notice fee
  • Putnam County normally extends the collection thru April 30th, 3% plus a $2.00 tax reminder notice fee included in March.
  • After April 30th, contact Putnam County Commissioner of Finance

Total Taxes Paid in Two Equal Payments

  • 1st payment on or before the last day in January, no interest
  • 2nd payment balance accepted February 1st – July 31st, 1% per month
  • After July 31st, contact Putnam County Commissioner of Finance

School Taxes

Total Taxes Paid in One Payment

  • On or before the last day in September, no interest
  • On or before the last day in October, 2% interest
  • After October 31st, contact Putnam County Commissioner of Finance

Total Taxes Paid in Two Equal Payments - 4% Service Charge

  • 1st payment on or before September 15th
  • 2nd payment on or before March 15th, to the Putnam County Commissioner of Finance
  • After March 15th, contact Putnam County Commissioner of Finance
